The Greenbrier County Convention and Visitors Bureau (GCCVB) is a non-profit 501(C)6 organization that was created to stimulate economic development by marketing the county as a premier tourist destination. The non-membership organization represents more than 200 tourism-related businesses in the county located in the southeast region of West Virginia.
The Bureau is governed and counseled by a 21-member board of directors made up of representatives from each municipality, as well as historical, cultural and recreational attractions and area lodging facilities. The board of directors meets six times a year.
The Bureau is fortunate to have a host of community members that volunteer to serve on the GCCVB's following four working committees:
Finance & Funding Committee
Charged with overseeing the overall financial standings of the GCCVB and approving monthly statements of expenditures, the Finance & Funding Committee also acts as the majority of the Audit Committee, while increasing funding for the organization and overseeing the budget.
First Impressions Committee
Charged with helping develop gateway initiatives, signage improvements and the Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center, the First Impressions Committee also works on problem areas such as litter campaigns, while working to ensure tourism partners receive adequate hospitality training.
Marketing Advisory Committee
Charged with reviewing and discussing the marketing and publication relations efforts of the CVB. From Visitor Guide concept to advertising placements to media outreach, members of this committee bring together a diverse background of experiences from all parts of the County.
If you have an interest in serving in as either a member of the board of directors or as a committee member, please contact the CVB's Executive Director at 304-645-1000 or kdense@greenbrierwv.com.
