Ninth Annual Wheels of Hope Ride Receives CVB Mini-Grant

July 13, 2015

Lewisburg, WV – The Greenbrier County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) grants $1750 in funds to the Greenbrier Valley Bicycle Club to market their 2015 Wheels of Hope Ride. The proceeds from this annual event support local cancer survivors and HospiceCare.

Saturday, July 18 is the ninth annual Wheels of Hope Ride; this fully supported bicycle ride begins and ends in downtown Lewisburg, WV. Participants can chose from four ride lengths:  113 miles, 65 miles, 31 miles or 18 miles. Each ride traverses one and two lane, paved country roads with ample farmland views and mountain vistas. Packet pick-up and registration is at the General Lewis Inn on Friday, July 17 from 4 to 7 pm.

Each year the CVB sets aside a portion of its budget to assist local entities with their tourism marketing efforts. For the first 2015 application cycle, the CVB awarded over $15,000 to eleven Greenbrier County organizations. To be eligible, projects must market a tourism-related event, attraction or initiative that enhance Greenbrier County’s image as a travel destination.

For more information about the Greenbrier County Convention and Visitors Bureau’s Mini-Grant Program, please contact Beth Gill, Marketing Manager, at bgill@greenbrierwv.com or call 304.645.1000.

The Greenbrier County CVB looks forward to partnering with the community as we continue to grow sustainable tourism in our area.
